Dorothy Marie Wiseman, 83, of Hillsboro died Tues., Sept. 14, 2010 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Dorothy was born November 12, 1926 in Ponder, TX the daughter of Alec and Lizzie Halbert Smith. She grew up in Tarrant County, graduated as Salutatorian from Justin High School, and went on to receive her BA in Education from McMurry College. On February 29, 1952 she married Rev. Paul Wiseman and he preceded her in death on November 24, 2008. She started teaching in 1966 and taught in several school districts during the years. In 1981, she earned her Masters of Library Science Degree from North Texas State University and was a librarian for the rest of her career, before retiring in 1996 from Bailey Junior High. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, where she belonged to the United Methodist Women and was the liaison for the church to Hillsboro Interfaith Ministries. A very active member of the Hill County Republican Women's Organization, Dorothy was elected as a delegate to the National Republican Convention in New York in 2004. She was also a member of the Sesame Club in Hillsboro. Also preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Kenneth Smith; daughter-in-law, Sandra Wiseman; son-in-law, Al Monday; and two great-grandsons, John-Michael Bond and Joseph Brownlee. Survivors include five children, Sharon Monday of Hillsboro, Paul W. Wiseman, Jr. of Graham, Terry Barnes and husband, Carroll, of Garland, Alan Wiseman and wife, Monica, of Melbourne, FL, and Becky Cliett and husband, Glen, of Hillsboro; nine grandchildren, David Brownlee, Lisa Bond, Scott Brownlee, Wendy Wiseman, Sherri Marshall, Chris Barnes, Allyson Cliett, Kira Colon, and Drew Cliett; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 673, Hillsboro, TX 76645.
