Doshie Kyser, 91, of Hillsboro passed away Monday, May 16, 2016, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Resthaven Memorial Park in Corsicana with Rev. Danny Gilliam of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m.Friday, May 20, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Doshie was born January 19, 1925 in Corsicana to Thomas and Cora (Tickle) Rogers. She grew up in Purdon and moved to Hillsboro following War World II. For many years, she was the office manager at Kyser-Cliett Refrigeration in Hillsboro. Doshie was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro for over 50 years and also a member of the Kinsloe House in Corsicana. Every Fourth of July she enjoyed participating in the parade and was named Miss Late Bloomer 1993. Doshie made many dear friends over the years and treasured these special relationships, playing games, especially bridge and dominos, going to the theater, eating out, etc. She enjoyed life in Hillsboro with her numerous friends, bringing sunshine and laughter into their lives. Her family trips with her sister, niece, and daughter were highlights in her life.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Paul Wilson Rogers.
Survivors include her son, Tommy Kyser and wife, Lydia, of Missouri and daughter, Bettie Duff and husband, Dennis, of Austin; sister, Billie Tate of Beaumont; four grandchildren, Scott Jackson and wife, Renee of Fulshear, Kristi Kyser, Ronnie Kyser, and Karla Kyser of Missouri; niece, Paula O’Neal of Beaumont; and nephew, Paul Wayne Rogers of Clear Lake.
Her family sincerely appreciates the love, care, and support showered upon her these past months. Doshie loved her friends and family dearly.
