Douglas Head

Douglas Kent Head, 44, of Hillsboro passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, January 31, 2017, at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2017, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Paul Clark of Walnut Street Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, at the funeral home.

Douglas was born March 2, 1972, in Waco to Kent Dolan and Judy Ruth (Gidley) Head. He was a 1990 graduate of Hillsboro High School. A jack of all trades, Doug could do anything he set his mind to. On April 22, 2011, he was united in marriage to Kayla Fisher in Hillsboro.

An avid fisherman, he loved all of God’s creatures big and small. Family and friends were everything to Doug. He was a very outgoing person and had a huge heart. He was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Hillsboro.

Preceding him in death were his maternal grandfather, Roland Gidley and paternal grandparents, Forest and Mary Head.

Survivors include his wife, Kayla Fisher of Hillsboro; parents, Kent and Judy Head of Hillsboro; seven children, Preston Head, Dakota Head, Lainie Head, Weston Suggs, Lily Suggs, Addison Suggs, and Caison Suggs; sister, Shannon Gross and husband, Curtis, of Hewitt; grandson, Aiden; grandmother, Sylvia Gidley of Hillsboro; two nieces, Rachel Smith and Makenzie Gross; and many aunts, uncles, and other extended family.
