Dr. Edward Clark Snow, Sr. of Whitney passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024, at home in the Bethel Community. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro.
He was born November 16, 1934, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Kenneth and Opal (Clark) Snow. He spent most of his childhood in Litchfield, Illinois, and moved to the Rio Grande Valley of Texas during high school. He graduated from McAllen High School in 1953. He joined the US Army and served two years in Germany before returning to McAllen, where he met Patsy Ann Greenhill. He and Patsy were united in marriage on September 22, 1956.
Ed spent his years as a theoretical physicist at Los Alamos National Laboratory in the Nuclear Weapons Division. He enjoyed playing golf and one of his favorite pastimes was teaching or coaching his children in various sports.
After retirement, Ed and Pat moved to Texas where they enjoyed visits from their grandchildren and great grandchildren as often as possible.
He is preceded by death by his parents and his siblings, Genny Fellers, Ken Snow, and Bob Snow. Survivors include his wife, Patsy; children, Julianna Duncan (Stephen), Sharilyn Snow, Allison Snow, and Edward Snow, Jr. (Beth); grandchildren, Amanda Dixon (Luke), Cindy Baden (Jon), Mallory Duncan (Katie), Mitchell Duncan, Alline Snow (Brayden), and Cassie Snow; and great grandchildren, Hannah, Nolan, Kylie, Kathryn, Clark, Logan, Henry, Scotty, and Lizzie.
Memorials may be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation or Cook Children’s Hospital.
