Dwight Rowland Pace, age 75, of Hillsboro passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at the Mustang Creek Estates of Sachse in Sachse, Texas. Family services are private.
Dwight was born on February 21, 1945, in Hillsboro to Lawrence and Christine (Snipes) Pace. He grew up in Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1963. He played as quarterback in football and was very proud of the Hillsboro Eagles. After high school, Dwight attended Hill Jr. College and then later attended Southwestern Oklahoma, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy. While still in college, he was united in marriage to Annette Rice on January 23, 1965. They had dated since they were in the seventh grade.
For most of Dwight’s career, he worked for True Quality Pharmacies and Brookshires Grocery Pharmacies, where he retired from in 2013. Following retirement, he continued to do relief work. For many years he was a marathon runner, loved to go fishing, and enjoyed tinkering. Dwight was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Annette Pace on May 19, 2018.
Dwight is survived by his children, Laura Hynson and husband, Todd and Beth McCauley and husband, Steven; and grandchildren, Ella Hynson, Pace Hynson and Will McCauley.
