Earl Krieg, Sr. went to his heavenly home comfortably and peacefully on August 1, 2024 at the age of 93. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on August 12, 2024 at the Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro under the direction of Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with Mr. Bruce Martin officiating.
Earl Krieg was born at home in Thrall, Texas on October 6, 1930, to Oscar and Pauline Krieg. He was the youngest of three boys. His senior year of high school, he moved with his parents to Melvin, Texas, where he graduated. Earl helped his father farm in Melvin after high school where he met Jimsey Montgomery. It was “love at first sight.” They married on January 14, 1951 in Eden, Texas. They lived in the Texas panhandle and New Mexico before moving to Whitney. Earl was a devoted husband for almost 70 years. Jimsey went to her heavenly home in 2020. Earl moved to CCRC and very much appreciated the staff there who assisted him live out the last two years of his life. He was a wonderful dad and father-in-law to his two children and their spouses: Phyllis Hughes and Larry Swift and Earl, Jr. and Kim Krieg. He was PawPaw to five grandchildren and their spouses: Erik and Jennie Hughes, Chad and Marci Hughes, Aleisha and Michael Doupoula, Kaycee and Jeff Wysaski, and Krystal and John Leedy. He was also PawPaw to his nine great-grandchildren and spouse: Bryce, Lexi (Ares), Ryan, Montgomery, Bennett, Tori, Levi, Lorelai, and Tia.
He was a devout Christian all his life and a member of the Whitney Church of Christ.
