The position is now filled for God’s assistant Grand-Gardener. Earlene “Pat” Walker Wade, 82, of Whitney, passed away on May 13, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Whitney with Dr. Carl Jennings officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Whitney. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday, May 15, 2015, at the funeral home.

Earlene was born in Speegleville, Texas on November 2, 1932, the daughter of Jo Lynn Kirk Walker and Victor Earl Walker. She moved to Whitney in 1947 when Mr. Walker relocated the family to Whitney to serve as the concrete engineer to construct the dam at Lake Whitney. She became a member of First Baptist Church in Whitney in 1947 and remained a faithful member until her death.

She attended and graduated from Whitney High School where she met and married Marvin Wade, Sr. Earlene was a loving an devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, studying history, sewing and her family. She endeavored to encourage, nurture and grow all thing around her including plants, animals and children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marvin, and a grandson, D.J. Campbell.

Mrs. Wade is survived by the five children she raised: Christine Wade Moran of Whitney, Marvin Wade, Jr., of Plano, Darlene Wade Campbell of Waco, Richard Wade of North Richland Hills and James Wade of Whitney; her sister, Mary Williford of Waco; her brother and sister-in-law, Myrl and Frank Wade of Whitney. Grandchildren include Melissa Luck Fischer, Joel Luck, Janet Campbell Smith, Rachel Campbell, Lyndi Wade and Veronika Wade; great-grandchildren, Amber Blatney Wilson, Audry Thornell, Aryn Thornell, Angelina Luck, Natalie Luck, Avery Smith and Katelyn McAfee; and a great-great-granddaughter, Alexis Wilson.
