Ed Partin


Ed Partin, 75, of Whitney passed away in Hillsboro on December 14, 2007. He was the son of Melvin and Modena Bailey Partin. He graduated from Jordan High School in 1950 in Long Beach, California. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict and received an honorable discharge in 1955. He lived in California for a few years before moving to Fort Worth. He worked for Bell Helicopter and later sold Cesnna aircraft at Greater Southwest Airport. His work included several defense contracts ranging from submarines to Abrams tanks. He also ran a TV and nostalgia station for a time. It was a source of pleasure to him that his career was spent in two industries he throughly enjoyed, aeronautics and television. He was a Catholic by faith. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Fort Worth and the Confederate Air Force. Preceding him in death were his parents and infant brother, Larry K. Partin. Survivors include his children, M. E. ?Buster? Partin, III of Whitney, Mark Partin and wife, Linda of Middlefield, Conn., Doug Partin and wife, Marci of Los Alamos, NM, Mitchell Partin of Fort Worth, Melissa Roberts, and husband, Al of Wautauga; step-children, Jennifer Meier and husband, Bill of Canton, Ohio, Johnny Wheeler of Austin, Laura Knutsen and husband, Todd of Woodbury, Minn., Andrew Wheeler of Los Angeles, CA; sister, Joan Hiett and husband, Rudy of Keller; 13 grandchildren and 5 step grandchildren.
