Eddie Carroll, Sr

Eddie Ray Carroll, Sr., 68, of Hillsboro passed away Monday evening, March 5, 2018, at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro.

Born May 12, 1949 in Hillsboro, he was the son of Eddie Samuel and Ursla (Kline) Carroll. He attended Hillsboro schools and Hill Junior College. During the Vietnam era, Eddie Ray served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Korea. On September 23, 1993, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Marie Hamm. Throughout his life, Eddie Ray worked in construction, roofing, farming, and ranching. He definitely enjoyed working with his hands and raising his chickens, goats, sheep, and cows. He loved his pet companions, Puddin Pie, Amy, and Zeus, but his all time favorite was his Great Pyrenees, Elroy. He was a Christian.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Phyllis Carroll; son, Eddie Ray Carroll, Jr., sister, Shirley Petzold; and brother, Billy Cantrell.

Survivors include his grandson, Joshua David Carroll and wife, Janetha; granddaughter, Kathryn Danielle Carroll; great-grandson, Levi Carroll; and daughter-in-law, Heather Reed.
