Eddy Mahurin

Eddy Dean Mahurin 74, of Whitney passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney. Officiating will be Rev. Greg Johnson. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, October 15, 2018 at the funeral home.

Eddy was born on November 6, 1943 in Whitney, to Walter Eugene “Buster” and Odessa Verena (Lee) Mahurin. He was raised in Whitney, he owned and operated a construction company as well as being a rancher. On August 11, 1962 he married Patricia Ann (Patti) Webb in Hillsboro. Eddy was a devoted husband to Patti for 56, years as well as a loving father to his three daughters. He was a member of the Open Range Cowboy Church and he also attended services at the First Church of the Nazarene in Whitney.
The family would like to express their thanks to Providence Hospice for their loving care, especially Erika and Lynette and also Brother Greg Johnson and niece Pam Bean.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Odessa Mahurin and brother, Gene Mahurin.

Survivors include his wife of 56, years Patti Mahurin of Whitney; children, Lori Ann Ryle of Whitney, Deana Kay Kaiser and husband, Jason Hill of Galveston, Amber Lee Kaiser and husband, Kevin of Hewitt and; grandchildren, Heathe Poston and wife, Kati, Brynn McClung, Kaleb Ryle, Jamie Johnson and husband, Erikson, Kels Kaiser and fiance’ Katy Stroda, Ava- Paige Kaiser, Kannon Kaiser, Kash Kaiser and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters , Betty Joyce Ward of Whitney and several loving nieces and nephews and his faithful pet companion “Buster”
