He grew up in the South Oak Cliff area of Dallas where he met and married his wife of 54 years, Delia Jo Smith. Mr. King was preceded in death by his parents; twin infant daughters; his brother and best friend, Harold King; his youngest sister, Dorothy Cole and his beloved pet, Petie. He is survived by his wife and three children; son, Mike and wife, Debbie of New Braunfels, daughter, Diane Marsh and husband, Gary of Midlothian, and daughter, Denise Foster and husband, Carl of Whitney; six grandchildren, Michele Nevitt and husband, George of New Braunfels, Lance King of New Braunfels, Corbett Foster and wife, Kristin of Waxhaw, N.C., Kris Hooten and husband, Chad of Whitney, Robyn Rutledge and husband, Dustin of Maypearl, Greg Marsh of Waco; five great grandchildren, Tyler and Quint Nevitt, Caden Foster, Kayli and Cash Hooten and a sister, Margie Eckart of Ben Wheeler. In lieu of flowers, the family would like all donations to be sent to Hospice of the Heart, PO Box 2081, Whitney, TX 76692, whose services were the salvation of the King family during his last month of illness.
