Edna Johnson

Edith Johnson 91, of Whitney passed away at her residence on January 16, 2005. Edna was the second of twelve children born to Hayden and Jessie Lasiter Chasteen. She moved to a farm in Grapevine in 1929. She met and married Lee Bridges in 1936. Three boys were bron to them. In 1963 she married Charles Johnson. She was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Huron. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jimmy Ray Bridges; two brothers, Henry Chasteen and Clyde Chasteen; five sisters, Juanita Boyd, Earline Johnson, Floy Huff, Flora Gardner and Clarice Jones. Survivors include her husband, Charles G. Johnson, of Whitney; children, Leon Howard Bridges of Burnet, Jesse Randall Bridges of Laguna Park; step-daughter, Linda Sue Moss of Fort Worth; step-son, Charles C. Johnson of Fort Worth; brothrs, Ray Chasteen of Odessa, Kenneth Chasteen of Fort Collins, CO; sisters, Dorothy Brand of Coppell, Wanda McDowell of Lewisville; grandsons, Jacob Bridges, Eric Bridges, Mark Bridges, Chris Bridges; granddaughters, Logan Bridges, Angela Blackmer; 5 step-grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
