Edna Marie Jones, 88, of Hillsboro, passed away at home June 16, 2005. Edna was born November 22, 1916 at Otto, Texas in Falls County to Joseph and Alice Ayers Vanous. She graduated from Mart High School and Texas Women?s University in Denton, Texas. She taught school in Falls County for several years and served her country during War World II in the Women?s Army Corp. She married Hubert W. Jones July 27, 1946 in Waco. They moved to Bynum where they farmed for many years. She moved to Hillsboro in 1977. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughters, Keri and Kristen Leatherwood; and a brother, Joe C. Vanous. Remaining family include sons, Donald G. Jones of Waxahachie and David Jones and wife, Stacy, of Abilene; daughters, Katherine Jones and Karen Leatherwood and husband, Mike, of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Robin Garza and husband, Carlos, Christopher Jones and wife, Beth, Donald Jones all of Milford; Wesley Jones and wife, Dusty, of Italy; and Joshua Jones and Ashley Smith of Abilene; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Bates of Dallas; Lorena Goodman and husband, James, of Irving; sister-in-law, Eileen Vanous of Mart; and several nieces and nephews. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 271, Hillsboro, TX 76645.
