Edna Mae Williams, 91, of Hillsboro died Thursday, September 9, 2010, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Edna was born March 5, 1919 in Peoria the daughter of John Lee and Goldie Bell Curry Poteet. Edna grew up in Hill County and lived here all of her life. On September 12, 1945 she married Rurel Williams and he preceded her in death on March 8, 1996. For a number of years, she worked at various stores in Hillsboro. She was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Hillsboro where she attended the Harvester Friendship Sunday school class and she was also a member of Senior Circle. Also preceding her in death were her parents; an infant brother, Benny Poteet; brother, Leon Poteet; and sister, Ruby Ripley. Survivors include three sisters, Alma Mathis of Garland, Francis Holland and husband, Marvin, of Hillsboro, and Marie Lloyd and husband, Newman, of Hillsboro; nephews and nieces, Jimmy Holland, Gaylan Mathis, Dwight Lloyd, Larry Lloyd, Gayle Taylor, Kenneth Taylor, James Howard Williams, Jean Patterson, Pam Jean, and Ray Podsednik; and many great-nephews and nieces.
