Edward Max Richter, 75, of Whitney, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Monday May 3, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Whitney with Pastor Phillip Wottrich officiating. Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Walburg, Texas. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.
Max was born to the late Max and Minna (Pillack) Richter on October 14, 1939 in Alice, Texas. He graduated Alice High School in 1958 and graduated Texas Tech in 1964. On November 12, 1966, he married Jan Murray. In 1983 they moved to Whitney and he went to work for Lake Whitney Real Estate as a Real Estate Broker and involved himself in many civic activities. Max enjoyed traveling, listening to classical music, spending time with his family and creating stained glass artwork. He was a life long and fruitful member of Our Savior Lutheran Church for 32 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Lawrence.
He is survived by his wife Jan Murray Richter of Whitney; daughters, Andrea and husband John Argubright of Whitney, Gretchen and husband Paul Sauer of Whitney, Meridith and husband Clay Sellers of Waco; son, Murray Richter and wife Jennifer of Dallas; grandchildren, Noelle, Keaton, and Trilby Argubright, Traugott and Fritz Sauer, Max and Annie Richter, Hans and Zion Sellers.
