Eileen Overton, 96, of Whitney, Texas, went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 30, 2024. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 5, 2024 at Whitney Memorial Park in Whitney, Tx. A visitation will be held an hour prior at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.
Eileen was born on June 25, 1927 to Lawrence and Ann (Monnich) Stark in Detroit, Michigan. She received her license as a dental assistant from Wayne County, MI, also a degree in accounting and worked for several years as an accountant for General Motors.
Eileen married Maynard A. Sharrow, Sr. on December 7, 1951. They had four children, Nancy, Maynard, Mike, and Tricia.
In 1971 Eileen moved to Whitney, Tx where she was employed at Accent Beauty Salon, The Lake Whitney Star Newspaper, and Bush's Grocery. She married her love of 46 years, Charles Overton on September 4, 1976, and added three sons to her family, David, Jeff, and Steve. Eileen was an avid reader, loved sewing and gardening, but her children and grandchildren gave her the most joy of all. She enjoyed attending their sports and other activities, and was always available to pick her grands up from school, play card games or care for them when they were sick. That was her calling in life and she was extremely good at it. Eileen was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Charles; son, David and wife Mary Overton; brother-in-law, Dan DeLisle; niece and nephews, Susie, Jeff and Danny DeLisle; grandson-in-law, Bobby Hightower.
Eileen is survived by her children and their spouses, Nancy and David Ridlehuber, Jeff and Ruth Overton, Maynard and Donna Sharrow, Steve Overton, Mike and Kim Sharrow, Tricia and Steve Ashcraft; sister, Judy DeLisle; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, John Overton, Dawson Hightower, Jake Overton, Brendon Aguirre, Brandon Overton, Matt Sharrow, and Brian Ashcraft; Honorary Bearers, Brooks Ashcraft and Mark Sharrow.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Sales Family Hope Center in Clifton and Baylor Scott and White Hospice.
Memorials may be made to Whitney Memorial Park, P.O. Box 889, Whitney, Tx, 76692 or The Lake Whitney Public Library, P.O. Box 1158, Whitney, Tx.
