Elaine Paine

Frances Elaine Paine, 78, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday, June 18, 2018, in Dallas. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with Rev. Danny Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow at Gholson Cemetery in Gholson. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home.

Elaine was born on May 3, 1940, in Raton, New Mexico, to Edgar and Audie Popejoy.
She moved to Arkansas with her parents in 1966 and ultimately moved to Texas in 1969 where she put down roots and raised her family. She married Jesse Paine in 1990 and lived a full and happy life in Whitney, Texas

Elaine was most known for the amazing love and dedication she had for her family. She loved to crochet, spend time with those she loved and travel. Elaine was a cancer warrior and passed away peacefully at her son’s home almost two years after her diagnosis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ernest, William and Walter; two half-sisters, Dorothy and Lola; as well as her husband, Jesse.

Survivors include her sister, Esther Ruth Ross; her sons, Rickey Brumbalow (Zaida), Edgar Brumbalow (JoLynn), and Walter Brumbalow; sisters-in-law, Joyce Gosdin, Gloria Paine Curnett ( Jay), Zettie Paine Minchew (Earl), and their children and grandchildren who loved and never missed an opportunity to be with their Aunt Elaine. She was also blessed with her own grandchildren, great-grandchildren and blended family.

The love for her family, extended family and friends was a true statement to the kind of woman Elaine was.

The family invites everyone to join them for food and drinks at the Abbott Community Center immediately following the service.
