Biography

Elizabeth Fleming, 88, of Hillsboro passed away Monday, October 29, 2012 at her residence. Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Pastor Lonnie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM Thursday prior to the service.

Elizabeth was born October 31, 1923 in Hillsboro to Jewell and Bertha (Carr) Sanders. On July 26, 1945 she married William Eugene “Gene” Fleming. He preceded her in death on January 31, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Elizabeth was an avid reader and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Hillsboro.

Survivors include two children; Mike Fleming and wife, Brenda of Hillsboro, and Sharon Johnson and husband, Lonnie, of Mesquite; eight grandchildren, Monya Fleming of Blum, Mikala Waggoner of Hillsboro, Eric Fleming and wife, Aleshia, of Hillsboro, Scott Johnson and wife, Heidi, of Forney, Jesse Johnson and wife, Jeniffer of Mesquite, and Lindsey, Daniel, and Michael Johnson of Mesquite; twelve great-grandchildren, Kyler, Gavin, Eli, Shine, Mallory, Brendan, Trent, Kade, Kobe, Dillon, Landon, and Tyler; and her constant companion “Jo Jo”.
