Ella Briggs

Our beloved mother, Ella May (Holland) Briggs, 82, of Blum, Texas, passed away on July 8, 2012, after a lengthy illness.

Ella May was born on July 4, 1930, in South County, Rhode Island, to the late Richard Edwin and Pearl Elizabeth (Carr) Holland. She married John Owen Briggs in November of l952. She was a resident of Blum for 22 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Briggs, and one son, Richard Briggs.

Ella May is survived by her children, Marilyn Lee Johnson of Texas; Rose Morris of Rhode Island; John Briggs of Texas; Helen Briggs of Rhode Island; Larry Briggs, Leonard Briggs, and Thomas Briggs, all of Texas; and stepdaughter Leslie Ann Smith of Texas; brothers, George Holland of California; Norman Holland and Arthur Holland of Rhode Island; sister, Hope Crandall of South Carolina; fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
