Ella Wanda Burt, age 85, formerly of Tall Timber Addition, Lake Whitney, died on Thursday, July 7, 2011 in North Richland Hills. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 9, at the Whitney Memorial Park in Whitney, with Dr. Allan Lane of Fort Graham Baptist Church officiating.

Ella was born September 9, 1925 in Bosque County to Robert M. and Jeraline (Boiles) Dunn. She grew up in Hill County and attended the Red Point School. On November 20, 1945, she married George Earl Burt and he preceded her in death on August 24, 1995.

She lived in Fort Worth for a number of years and then spent several years traveling the state with her husband when he worked for the University of Texas. Following their retirement, she settled in Whitney until moving to the Fort Worth area 9 years ago.

Ella was very close to her family and enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews and getting together with the rest of the family at family reunions. An excellent homemaker, she also loved to paint in oils and acrylics on fabrics, and get out of the house for the occasional fishing trip. Ella was of the Methodist faith.

Also preceding her in death were her parents and brother Robert J. "Buster" Dunn. She is survived by two brothers, William Francis Dunn of Fort Worth and Garrey C. Dunn, and wife, Carolyn of Hurst; sister-in-law, Ruby Lee Dunn of DeSoto; two aunts, Othel Boiles of Nemo and Helen Terry of Whitney; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Whitney Memorial Park; PO Box 889; Whitney, TX 76692. Services are under the direction of Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.
