Ella Spears

Ella Frances Spears, 82, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2005 in Bryan, Texas. Ella was born March 30, 1922 in Dublin, Texas the daughter of W. L. "Bill" and Maggie B. Hailey. She had been a resident of Bryan since 1945. After graduating from Lampasas High School and Hillsboro Junior College, Ella also attended Baylor University. For 25 years she worked for the Texas A&M Research Foundation as an accountant. On July 16, 1945 she married Ben Spears, Jr. and he preceded her in death on November 28, 1994. Active in many organizations, Ella was a member Grace Bible Church, the Widow and Widowers Club, Crestview Volunteers and the Extension Service Club in Bryan. Also preceding her in death were her parents and a sister, Jo Whittenburg. Survivors inlcude a son, Mark Allan Spears and wife, Susan of Bryan; two grandchildren, Paul Allan and Allison Cristelle Spears; a brother, Bill Hailey of Arlington; a sister, Virginia Ann Kluck of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
