Elvis Royal Thompson

Elvis Royal Thompson of Blum, Texas, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at his home.  Graveside services will take place at 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Blum Cemetery, with Pastor Clay Strawn officiating.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday, September 18, 2023, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Elvis was born April 28, 1941, in Glen Rose, Texas, to Royal and Anita (Schwartz) Thompson.  He was united in marriage on September 22, 1959, to Mildred (Lewis) Thompson.

A member of First United Pentecostal Church of Hillsboro, Elvis was known as an avid fisherman and a man with his home and heart open to those in need.  In addition to fishing, he loved telling jokes and scaring people.

Preceded in death by his parents, Royal and Anita Thompson and his wife, Mildred, he is survived by his children, Davy Thompson and wife Kim Thompson, Lucresha Dubois and husband Ray Dubois, Katrina Thompson and husband Kenny Smith; siblings, Sonja and Brenda; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
