Emma Beene

Emma Dee Mama Dee Beene went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2004. She joined her beloved husband, Homer H. Beene, her sister, Thelma Pritchett White, and many other loved ones after a 97 years journey with us. Emma Dee was born October 16, 1906, in Hill County, Texas, the eldest daughter of I. V. and Ida Bell McIlroy. She moved to Fort Worth in 1943, having become a true ?Rosie the Riveter? helping to build B-24 Bombers at Consolidated Vultee now Lockheed-Martin. Mrs. Beene was an active member of the Baptist Church and a second mom to scores of children that she helped guide during her many decades of ?baby-sitting? - a ?job? she enjoyed through her 85th year. Emma Dee Beene leaves behind a loving daughter, Lorinda J. Howard and son-in-law, Joe Howard; three proud grandchildren: Scott Howard, Malia Howard and Marsha Hubbard and her husband, Gary Hubbard and an adoring great-grandson, Matt Hubbard, and his new bride, Gerron Hubbard. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 337 Carr, Hillsboro, TX 76645.
