Emma Phillips

Emma J. Phillips, 69, of Whitney, passed away on December 27, 2013 at a Waco hospital. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 5, 2014, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney. Burial will follow at Whitney Memorial Park. She will lie in state from 9AM - 9PM, Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the funeral home.

Emma was born on September 14, 1944, in Aquilla, to Joe and Catherine (Bibles) Davenport. She grew up in Aquilla and graduated from West High School. After receiving her LVN license from MCC, she worked at Whitney Hospital as an LVN and also as a lab tech and in radiology. She loved shopping and especially loved being with her family as well as her church family. She was a member Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Whitney.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Phillips.

She is survived by her mother, Catherine Bibles of Whitney and sister Elvie Mae Williams.
