Eric Ables, 54, of Whitney, passed away on November 28, 2016, in Mills County. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2016, at the Open Range Cowboy Church in Whitney, under the direction of Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney, with Dr. Gerald Dudley officiating. Burial will follow at Whitney Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2016, at the funeral home.
Eric was born on July 3, 1962 in Fort Worth, to Bill and Laura (Bland) Ables. He graduated from Allen High School. On August 17, 1985, he married Mona Womack. For 26 years he worked at Austin Bridge and Road Company. He liked race cars and owned a go-kart track around West for several years, and he also loved to hunt. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Temple, Oklahoma.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Keith Ables in 2000.
Survivors include his wife, Mona Ables of Whitney; parents, Bill and Laura Ables of Whitney; children, Cassidy Ables of Haslet and Eric Dalton Ables of Whitney; brother, David Ables and wife Angela of Whitney and sister Melissa Tennison and husband, Randy of New Summerfield.
