Erma Faye Carrington, 95, of Fort Worth passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Garden Terrace Nursing Home in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Central Baptist Church in Hillsboro, with Rev. Charles Bartley and Rev. Darrel Beggs officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Erma was born July 13, 1923, in Hillsboro. She was the daughter of Joseph William and Mattie Mae (Bonds) Turner. A graduate of Aquilla High School, she lived most of her life in Aquilla and Hillsboro. During her working years, she worked in the Hill County Tax office for 20 years and later retired from Certainteed Corporation after 25 years of service on November 1, 1987.
When Erma was not working, she was a avid reader. She was also a member of the Central Baptist Church in Hillsboro.
Preceding her in death were her parents; three husbands, Jimmie B. Malone, Granvel Reed, and Ted Carrington; two sisters, Mary Dell Noel and Ruth May; and a brother, Charles Turner.
Survivors include her son, Jimmie Malone of Fort Worth; two grandchildren, Chris Malone and wife, Melinda, and Kristel Wilkins and husband, Jason; four great-grandchildren, Blake Malone and Grant, Tate and Maddie Wilkins; niece, Sammye Bartley; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
