Ernestine Dubois

Ernestine DuBois, 89, of Morgan, passed away on June 2, 2014, in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Marshall and Marshall Directors Chapel in Whitney with Pastor Jim Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Valley Cemetery near Whitney. Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2014. Visitation with the family will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, before the service.

Ernestine was born on April 23, 1925, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to John Ernest and Sarah Emily (Fisher) Outlaw. She graduated from Tulsa Central High School and attended various colleges in Oklahoma, before graduating from Oklahoma State University and received her master’s degree. On August 8, 1947, she married Lloyd DuBois. She played tennis and liked horses. But, her real love and passion was music and she was a music teacher for 18 years in public schools as well as playing the piano at various churches. She was very proud of her father being a pastor at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Tulsa. Travel was a pastime she enjoyed and she owned a cabin in Colorado. She was also a great artist. Ernestine was a member of Covenant Baptist Church of Hillsboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd DuBois; a brother, James Edward Outlaw; a sister, Mildred Outlaw Hall and a niece.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Cook and husband, Jim, of Whitney; son David DuBois and wife, Kim, of Whitney; grandchildren, Robert Kilmer of Toronto, Canada, Sarah Albright of Whitney, Stephen Cook of Georgetown, Emily Cook of Whitney, Jessica DuBois and Zachary DuBois, both of Saginaw; great-grandchildren, Aidan Albright, Alexis Albright, Travis Cook, and Evan DuBois; and one sister, Ruth Boucher of Panama City, Florida.
