Esther Sawyer

Esther was born December 3, 1914 in Hillsboro, Texas to John W. and Merzuery F.Shetley Crawford. Living most of her life in Hillsboro, she moved to Whitney in 1972 and to Temple in 1995. On December 3, 1938 she married Preston Sawyer and he preceded her in death on August 18, 1989. For many years she owned and operated a beauty salon in Hillsboro. She was a charter member of the Church of The Nazarene in Whitney where she played organ for many years and a member of the First Church of The Nazarene in Temple. Also preceding her in death were her parents, four sisters, and two brothers. Survivors include three children, Linda Rappaport of Temple, Barbara Hill of Salado, and Donald Sawyer of McKinney; two brothers, Johnny Crawford of Whitney and William Bill Crawford of Laguna Park; her twin sister, Ethel Reagor of Hillsboro; ten grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
