Etheline Dennis

Etheline Dennis, 89, of Whitney, passed away on June 29, 2015, in Corsicana. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with Rev. Eddie Booth, officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the funeral home.

Etheline was born in Whitney on October 8, 1925, to Bruce and Margaret (Cappers) Shaw. She lived in and around Whitney most of her life. She married Clovis Lloyd Dennis on February 3, 1948 and they had two children, Leslie Dennis and Sue Martin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on July 4, 1986; three brothers, Donald in 1937, Duel in 2001 and C.R. (Rudolph) in 2012; and a sister, Imogene Dyer, in 2012.

Survivors include her son, Leslie Dennis and wife, Misachilene of Whitney; daughter Sue Martin and husband, Bill, of Corsicana; three grandsons, Kyle Dennis and Klay Dennis of Dallas and Collin Martin and wife, Z’Anna, of Midland; a granddaughter, Ahleasha Hope and husband, Doug of Whitney; three great-grandsons, Tyler Hope and Colby Hope of Whitney, and Tripp Martin of Midland; a great-granddaughter, Hadley Martin of Midland; two brothers, Jerry Shaw and wife, Dorothy of Burleson and Benny Shaw and wife, Linda of Arlington; two sisters, Willie Mae Worley and husband, James and Anita Brown and husband, John, all of Whitney; sister-in-law, Billie Shaw of Cleburne; two aunts, Irene Hill of Whitney and Irene Shaw of Tomball; and sister-in-law, Anita Shaw and friend Liffie of Whitney; and also a special family friend, Wes Knotts. She also had two precious companions in her life, Hershey for thirteen and a half years and Rascal.
