Ethelyne S. McClure, 96, of Grandview passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 2, 2017, at Texas Health Huguley Hospital in Burleson. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2017, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro with Mr. Buddy Fry of Grandview Church of Christ officiating.

Born October 3, 1920 in Penelope, she was the daughter of Emory Neil and Mary Lillie (Parker) Sullins. She grew up in Hill County and was a graduate of Bynum High School. While attending a carnival in Hillsboro, Ethelyne met the love of her life, Oran Lee McClure. Not long after, the couple eloped to San Antonio where they were married on January 3, 1939. In 1953, they moved to Fort Worth.

During their 53 years of marriage, she and Oran loved to go dancing on Saturday nights. He preceded her in death on November 15, 1993. Ethelyne moved to Cleburne in 2000. For the past nine years, she had been a resident of Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Grandview, where she enjoyed participating in all of the social activities.

A very talented seamstress, she often made clothes for her children. Ethelyne was a very strong woman who passed down her qualities to her family whom she loved with all her heart.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Shirley Johnson; and three brothers, Hubert, Harvey, and Everett Sullins.

Survivors include her two grandchildren, Steve Williams and wife, Kasey, of Wylie and Della Jewett and husband, Steve, of Cleburne; sister-in-law, Margaret McClure of Hillsboro; 7 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; 4 great-great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation, P. O. Box 670, Grandview, TX 76050.
