Biography

Eugene Henry Loewe, 83, of Hillsboro passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at a Hillsboro nursing home. Services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, November 2, 2012 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Dr. James Haner of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Whitney officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 pm Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors.

Eugene was born August 2, 1929 in Malone, Texas to Adolph Fritz and Ida Louise (Groppe) Loewe. He lived most of his life in Hill County. On October 30, 1948, he married Bonnie Schronk. They lived in West Texas for about 10 years before moving back to Hill County in 1966.

Eugene worked in parts and service for John Deere for many years and was known as “the John Deere man”. In his spare time, he liked fishing, cooking and barbequing. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Whitney.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Derek Brown; and two brothers, Maloyde and Oliver Loewe.

Survivors include his wife Bonnie Loewe of Hillsboro; four children, Linda Richardson and husband Charles of Houston, Loraine Easterling and husband, Charles, of Hillsboro, Cindy Brown and husband, Larry, of Whitney, and Monetta Smith of Fort Worth; brother Orville Loewe and wife, Patsy, of Malone, sister Marilyn Bates and husband, Truett, of Pearl; grandchildren, Christopher Allen and Michelle, Jennifer Hobbs and husband, Rocky, Wendy Hamilton and husband, Wesley, Skylar Smith, and Logan Smith; great-grandchildren, Lynnsey Smitherman, Haley Kepple, Derek Allen, Justice McDaniel, Dacey Allen, Colton Hamilton, and Katelyn Hamilton, and many nieces and nephews.
