Eva Dean Williams Kemp, 93, of Hillsboro, Texas, journeyed into heaven Friday, December 17, 2021, in Clifton, Texas. Dean was born on August 1, 1928, to K.E. and Nera Edith Williams in Itasca, Texas. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, Texas. Visitation will start at 10:00 am before the funeral service.
She married the love of her life, Elmo Kemp in December of 1945, when he returned from WWII, and they settled in Corpus Christi and had their three children, Vicki, Terry, and Tim. They also began South Texas Appliance Service together. Then in the late 1970’s, after moving to Rockport, the business grew to include Terry and became Kemp Heating and Air.
She and Elmo moved to Hillsboro in 1991 to take care of her parents until their deaths. Their home has been the gathering spot for countless family functions and many delicious home-cooked meals. Favorites included her homemade biscuits and the preserves she made from the fruit trees in the yard. The children enjoyed playing in the country, climbing on hay bales and the old windmill.
She spent many years in the medical field working as office manager for doctors. After moving to Hillsboro, she went to work for County Attorney Mark Pratt. She loved her years with Mark. However, in 2007, she decided to retire so she could travel and spend time with her sister, Verna Faye.
She was passionate about gardening and was active in the First Baptist Church of Hillsboro. She will also long be remembered for her kindness and her generous spirit, as well as her love for family and friends.
In heaven she has joined Elmo, her husband of 52 years, as well as her parents, son Timothy Lee, daughter-in-law Nancy, grandson Taylor, sister Verna Faye Pyron Maner.
She is survived by sister Geana Madison, daughter Vicki Roberson and husband Paul, son Terry Kemp and wife Delaine, grandchildren Cheri Teague and Jarrod, Jeff Bromfield and Melani, Michael Bromfield and Denise, Joshua Kemp and Stephanie, Kristin Haden and Joel, Laura Love and Brett, Bethany Kemp plus eighteen great- grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild, as well as her beloved dog Mitzi.
She lived at Country Club Retirement Center in Whitney, Texas since 2017 and appreciated the love and care she received there. She also received wonderfully compassionate care at Goodall Witcher Hospital in Clifton during her last days.
