Eva Zabonik

Eva Zabonik, 79, of Whitney, passed away on June 25, 2015 at her residence. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

The daughter of Maurian “Bud” and Maudie (Cox) McCoy, Eva was born on January 1, 1936, in Dallas, where she also grew up. In November of 1961, she married William Henry Zabonik and the couple lived in DeSoto for a number of years. Most recently, she had been resident of Morgan for 14 years until moving to Whitney a short time ago. In her spare time, she also enjoyed working in her garden and cooking for her family.

Eva was a very loving mother who devoted herself to her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved God and doing His work. Mom, we will miss you and we love you so much.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, William H. Zabonik; two sons, Billy Joe Zabonik and William M. Zabonik; three brothers and eight sisters.

Survivors include four children, daughter, Kim Bennett and husband, Stephen of Lakeside, Shelia Ruiz and husband, Carlos of Duncanville, Roy Young and wife, Lynnette of Trinity and Michael Zabonik of Dripping Springs; eleven grandchildren, Joseph Barrett and wife, Cheryl, Jeffrey Barrett and wife, Wendy, Matthew Ruiz, Shannon, Michele and Keeley Zabonik, Christopher, Anthony and B.J. Young, Kelsi and Kristina Zabonik; several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece and her family - Tammy McCoy and husband, Vince Allred, her daughter, Alicia Wright and her grandsons, Zeth and Zane McCoy.
