Evalena Dollar Jobe, 87, of Cleburne passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at Wren House in Cleburne. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Mr. Bruce Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday prior to service.
Evalena was born March 7, 1925 in Hillsboro to the late Albert and Margaret (Adams) Dollar. She was the 10th of 12 children. On March 9, 1947 she married the late LaVerne Jobe. Together they owned and operated Jobe Jewelers in Hillsboro for many years. Evalena was a member of the College Hill Church of Christ. She had a beautiful singing alto voice and loved to sing.
An avid sports fan, she especially loved the Texas Rangers and she also enjoyed going to garage sales. She was very devoted to her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were six brothers, Roy, Marcus, Marvin, Cicero, Robert, and James Dollar; and three sisters, Eunice Dollar, Margaret Treadaway, and Katherine Tanner.
Survivors include her children, Lynn Davis and husband, Grover, of Midlothian and Dennis Jobe and wife, Hope, of Cleburne; two sisters, Agnes Keeton of Hillsboro and Nell Gregory and husband, Edward, of Vaughan; five grandchildren, Jeff Davis and Jennifer Robb and husband, Chris, all of Midlothian, Carrie-Anne Goodman and husband, Caleb, of Ponder, Leia Jobe of Cleburne, and Sgt. Clifford Jobe and wife, Lindsay, of Fort Hood; and nine great-grandchildren, Spencer Davis, Erin Davis, Anna Davis, Megan Robb, Macy Robb, Clayton Goodman, Claire Goodman, Colden Jobe, and Turner Jobe.
The family wishes to thank Mission Hospice of Cleburne for their gentle care and compassion of their mother.
