Evelyn Allen

Evelyn Allen, 71, of Hillsboro died Thursday, August 21, 2008, at Providence Health Care Center in Waco. Evelyn was born January 19, 1937 in Whitney, Texas. She lived all of her life in Hillsboro. On February 24, 1951 she married Rayford Allen and he preceded her in death on July 25, 1997. For 30 years she worked at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro before retiring. Also preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Jessie Halbert; and sister, Shirley Cox. Survivors include her children, Tommy Allen and wife, Donna, of Hillsboro, Tracy Allen and wife, Janell, of Hillsboro, Brenda Gibbs and husband, Steve, of Conroe, and Troy Allen of Hillsboro; brother, Jackie Halbert and wife, Gaylynn, of Hillsboro; sister-in-law, Sandra Halbert Neagle of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
