Evelyn Rowe

Funeral services for Evelyn Nell Rowe will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the Marshall & Marshall Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Danny Gilliam of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. The family will receive visitors from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service on Wednesday.

Evelyn Nell was born on June 15, 1917 in Whitney, Texas to Ramsey Armstrong and Nora Juanita (Pendleton) Baker. She grew up in Whitney and graduated from high school there in 1933.

On May 12, 1936, she married Cecil "Buster" Rowe in Hillsboro. The couple was together for almost 62 years before he preceded her in death on March 15, 1998. Evelyn Nell was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was an avid quilter and also enjoyed collecting antique cars. Her activities included membership in the Union Bluff Community Center, Home Demonstration Club, and the Union Bluff Quilters.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, a brother F. R. Baker, and a sister, Mary Wornell.

Survivors include her son, Curtis Rowe and wife, Linda of Arlington; daughter, Joyce Frailicks and husband, Ken of New Orleans, LA.; grandson, Steve Rowe and wife, Michelle of Arlington; two granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren.
