Biography

Evelyn Yvonne Shelton, 76, of Fort Worth passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011, in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2011, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2011, at the funeral home.

Evelyn was born May 14, 1935 in Malakoff to James and Lura (Morris) Kennon. She lived in Fort Worth most of her life. In June 1977, she married Louis Shelton and he preceded her in death in 1984. Evelyn loved her family and lived a long, happy life.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; step-father, Raymond A. Jordan, who raised her as his own; three sister, Naomi, Clara, and Mary; and two grandchildren, Michael S. Russell and Shawn P. Scott.

Survivors include her five children, Carolyn M. “B. J.” Davlin of Dothan, AL, Malissa R. Gautreau and husband, Mark, of Abbeville, AL, Ramona D. Sellers and husband, Tommy, of Johnson City, TN, Donald A. Cloud and wife, Louise, of Waverly, OH, and Jackie A. Cloud, II of Wichita Falls; daughter-in-law, Becky Whitman of Dothan, AL; brother, Benjamin J. R. Kennon and wife, Joan, of Sun City, AZ; sister, Annie Ruth Dautiel and husband, Joe, of Austin; nine grandchildren, Harley Davlin, Cody Whitman, Travis Whitman, Kenneth Scott, II, April Burger, Joseph Burnham, Tiffany Sorrells, Erica Sorrells, and Kyle Sellers; seven great-grandchildren, Luke, D. J., Shawna, Brandon, J. J., Zoe, and Ian; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
