Evelyn Curbo Williams, 84, of Hillsboro, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2011, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with Rev. Joe Bob Boyd officiating.
Evelyn was born on September 13, 1926 to the late Luther and Samantha (Blocker) Curbo in the Crow Community of Hill County. She attended the Crow and Bethel schools before graduating from Hillsboro High School. After graduation, she went to work for Baylor Hospital in Dallas. On July 3, 1947 she married J. W. Williams in Dallas. The couple lived in Irving for 35 years until moving to Hillsboro 13 years ago.
Evelyn loved working in the yard and was recognized by the City of Irving for the most outstanding yard on two occasions. She also was an excellent cook and thoroughly enjoyed cooking. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Irving.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Willie Jim Curbo, Luther Edwin Curbo, and Delbert Lee Curbo, and one sister, Frances Doherty.
Survivors include her husband, J. W. Williams of Hillsboro; sister, Letha Faye Lewis and husband, Doug, of Hillsboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
