Exie Murl Phillips, 85, of Whitney passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013, in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her family and loved ones. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3, at Hillcrest Burial Park in Waxahachie with Dr. Carl Jennings officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.
Exie was born July 6, 1927 in Waxahachie to Nolan Lee and Velma Evelyn (Huff) Rabe. On April 6, 1946 she married Thomas V. Phillips in Waxahachie and he preceded her in death on December 13, 2002. For many years she worked for LTV in Grand Prairie and also for Texas Instruments. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Whitney.
Also preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Hancock and husband, Jimmy Nelson, of Pflugerville; brother, Charles Rabe of Scottsdale, AZ; two grandchildren, Kimberly Ehr and husband, Daniel, of Pflugerville and Paul Hancock of Round Rock; and two great-grandchildren, Kingston Harper Ehr and Greyson Wolfe Ehr.
