Faye Wingate

Faye Gilmore Wingate, 87 of Bedford and formerly of Whitney passed away on September 2, 2010. She was the daughter of James and Annie Harber Gilmore. Faye grew up in the Bethel Community and received her teaching certification in 1941 and her Bachelors Degree in 1962 from Texas Wesleyan College in Ft Worth. She taught school from 1941-1985 in Hill and McLennan Counties. She married Warren Wingate on January 16, 1945 and he preceded her in death on November 29, 1985. After retiring from teaching, she was a library volunteer for the HEB and Irving School Districts for 17 years. Faye was a member of Harwood Terrace Baptist Church in Bedford. Survivors include her daughters, Jeanne and Bettye Wingate of Bedford. Other relatives include cousins: Teresa Gilmore Bianca and Frank of Whitney, Michael Jon Gilmore of Dallas, Doris Curry Whitmire of Sherman and Loreta Curry Wester of Hurst; many nieces and nephews.
