Felicia Heath Davis Luther

Felicia Heath Davis Luther was born in Houston, Texas to Mavis (Locklin) and Abram Zavala on July 15, 1952 and left this life January 14, 2023.  A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the North Cleburne Baptist Church in Cleburne, Texas.

She and her baby sister were adopted by her aunt and uncle, Carmen Locklin and John Heath, after the death of their mother Mavis in 1959, and she grew up in Lake Jackson, Texas.

Felicia was baptized in 1969 at Shady Oaks Baptist church where she was a member, she was a Girl Scout and loved the swimming team while attending Brazosport schools. Felicia graduated in the first class of Brazoswood High Buccaneers 1969-1971, after high school graduation she attended Brazosport College for business management and later attained a nursing degree and was pinned with her cap.

Felicia then moved to Cleburne, Texas, where she met and married James K. Davis and raised their children Jason Lawrence, James Thomas, Jackie Lee and Jana Deann Davis.

She supported her family working for TXDOT, Fort Worth, Texas retiring after 25 years.

During retirement she continued to stay busy in her church as she had a passion for music and ministry, singing in the choir, leading women's study groups and helping with outreach.

Felicia would look for the opportunity to share her faith and love for Jesus, ready to help those she met, and no one remained a stranger as she accepted everyone as her family.

In 2015 she was first diagnosed with breast cancer and again in 2018 with bone cancer, but she did not let it slow her down, instead remained strong in faith and walking with her Lord while serving others and spending precious time with family, especially her grandson’s Evan and Andrew.

She is preceded in death by her son James Thomas, daughter Jana Deann, her husband and friend Jay Davis, sisters Brenda Rowe and Shirley Carroll, brother John Thomas Heath, and both parents and grandparents.

Felicia is survived by sons Jason Lawrence (wife Dawn), grandson Evan, Jackie Lee Davis, grandson Andrew Lee, and great grandson Matteo, sister Mavis Heath Salladay (husband Matt), brother Billy Heath and a daughter-n-law Teresa Davis
