F. L. Upchurch

F. L. Upchurch, age 88 of Hillsboro passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020, in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2020, at The Open Range Cowboy Church in Whitney with Dr. Gerald Dudley and Pastor Brian Upchurch officiating. He will lie in state from Noon to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro. Burial will follow at Itasca Cemetery in Itasca. Face mask and social distancing are required.

F.L. was born May 10, 1932, in Milford, Texas to Homer Lee and Josie Mae (Osborne) Upchurch. F.L. was united in marriage to Ann Upchurch on May 30, 1953 at the Loveview Baptist Church. He spent most of his life as a farmer and a cotton ginner, working for Hill and Yoakum Counties as a heavy equipment operator before retiring

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Shirley McCreary; son, Kenneth Upchurch; three brothers, James, Ray and William Upchurch; and one sister, Helen Leverett.

F.L. is survived by his wife, Ann Upchurch; children, Wayne Upchurch and wife, Bobbie Jo, Leonard Upchurch and wife, Josie, and Cynthia Anderson and husband, Keith; sisters, Flossie Cowan and Florence Neal;  9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
