Floyd Marvin McNabb, 101, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013 in Mesquite. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro with his son, Ernest McNabb, officiating. Viewing will be from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Friday, August 2, at the funeral home.
Floyd was born November 9, 1911 in Montague County, Texas to Jim and Ruby McNabb and was the oldest of five brothers, Elmer, Ray, Clarence and Otis, all of whom have preceded him in death. His father later remarried and had two children, Jimmy and Shirley.
Floyd married Juanita Mae Brewer in Wellington, Texas on February 27, 1932, and she preceded him in death on June 9, 1998. He worked as a farmer and as a mechanic, among other jobs, until retiring to Lake Whitney and later to Mesquite, where he lived out the balance of his 101 years, eight months and 21 days.
He is survived by his children, Clifton Floyd McNabb of Spring, Ernest Lee McNabb of Amarillo, and Cozetta Mae Oldham of Mesquite; step-brother, Rev. Jim McNabb and step-sister, Shirley Ophus, both of the Oklahoma City area; six grandkids, nine great-grandkids, and two great-great-grandkids.
