Floyd was born on May 27, 1940 in Oakwood, the son of the late Sidney and Blanche Netymach Sneed. He served his country in the United States Army. He had worked as a driller for Southwestern Laboratories for 16 ½ years before retiring in 1991. On August 31, 1984 he married Linda Warne in Grand Prairie. A man who loved his family, Floyd was a good Christian man who read his bible everyday. He was always working around the church doing whatever needed to be done. He enjoyed drinking coffee, was an avid hunter and fisherman and a volunteer fireman with the Steele Creek Acres Fire Department. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Whitney and a lifetime member of VFW Post # 8571. He was also preceded in death by brothers, J. T. Sneed, Bobby Sneed; sisters, Nancy Mahl, Maudie McCool and son-in-law, Robert Hall. Survivors include his wife Linda; children, Roger Sneed and wife Wanda, Sheila Hall and husband Frank, Christy Daniel and husband Gerald, Kim Young and husband Glen, Ken Gates and wife Sonia, Kari Gates and husband Frank; brothers Roland Chamberland, Bill Sneed, Sidney Junior Sneed, Charles Sneed, Arlis Sneed: sisters, Laura Woods, Barbara Sorter; brother-in-law, Tommy McCool; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, former wife, Mary Lou Sneed and baby girl companion dog, Sophie.
