Biography

Forest Head, 93, of Hillsboro passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Homestead Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hillsboro. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 9, 2012, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 P.M. Sunday, January 8, 2012, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Forest was the son of James Allison and Modena Belle (Stephens). He grew up in Cleburne and graduated from Cleburne High School. On April 11, 1941 he married Mary Hankins and she preceded him in death on Janury 19, 2011. He served in WWII from January 1944 to April 1946 at the rank of Sgt. Forest worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 40 years retiring in 1980 and was a membr of the First United Methodist Church of Hillsboro. His favorite hobbies were gardening, woodworking and raising various kinds of birds.

Also preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Esther, Tilden, and Bolton Head; and three sisters, Ciddie Smith, ImaJean Ingle, and Juanita Powell.

Survivors include his children, Kent Head and wife, Judy, of Hillsboro and Karen Dickson and husband, Paul, of Forgan, OK; three grandchildren, Douglas Head, Shannon Gross, and Wendy Crane; and eight-great grandchildren, Preston, Dakota and Lainie Head, Rachel and MaKenzie Gross, Logan and Hayden Wooters, and Kailey Crane.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 673, Hillsboro, TX 76645.
