Frances Degner

Frances Strauch Degner, 89, of Hubbard died Thursday, May 27, 2010, at Oakview Nursing Home in Hubbard. Frances was born May 19, 1921, in the Savage Community in Hill County. The daughter of the late Martin John and Lena Radke Strauch, she was the youngest of eleven children. A life-long resident of Hill County, she lived near Malone most of her adult life. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church near Malone. Frances was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Louis W. Degner, and nine siblings. Survivors include her four children, Robert Degner and wife, Janet, of Gainesville, FL, Doris Pettit and husband, Mike, of Texarkana, Joyce Maddox and husband, Orville, of Dawson, and Sandy Perry and husband, Ronnie, of Ozark, AR; sister, Levona Geltmeier of Malone; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salem Lutheran Cemetery Maintenance Fund, 718 HCR 3424 E, Malone, TX 76660 or Providence Hospice of Mexia, 107 E.
