Anna “Frances” Hamilton, 83, of Whitney, went to be with our Lord on November 28, 2016, after a long battle with Alzheimers. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney, Texas, with Rev. Keith Manning and Rev. Barron Harris, officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery in Stephenville, Texas at 12:30 on Thursday. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the funeral home.
Frances was born on December 6, 1932, to Johnny and Velma (Hancock) Kirklen in Stephenville, Texas, where she was raised. It was there she met and married Elbert Lee Hamilton on October 27, 1951. The couple moved to Muleshoe, Texas where they lived for 36 years and raised four children. Later, Elbert and Frances retired to Buffalo, Texas and a few years later moved to Whitney.
Frances was a godly wife and sacrificial, loving mother. She was also an accomplished pianist and organist. She and Elbert were extremely active in the Baptist church wherever they lived. Frances played the piano or organ in every church in which they were members.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Edwin “Sonny” Kirklen of Ozona, Texas.
Survivors include her husband, Elbert Hamilton of Whitney; four children, Rickey Hamilton and wife, Lynne of Stephenville, Karen Milton and husband, Marc of Greenville, Royce Hamilton and wife, Fran of Muleshoe and Randall Hamilton and wife, Sherry of DeSoto; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
