Born in the sleepy hollow of Fleahop, Elmore County, Alabama during the Great Depression, an Alabama girl! Raised on the black land of the heart of Texas.

Preceded in death by her parents, Gaston Howard and Frances Leola Brooks Howard. Also, preceded by her sister Annie Lee Howard Wright and her husband Marcellus (Cell) Wright. She lost her younger son, Thomas William Huse at a much too early age in 1985. She also lost an important nephew, Jim Finch to a similar health battle.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years Melvin Huse. Their dedication and love for one another continued to grow through all of life’s trials and glories.

She is also survived by her older son Jerry Huse of Carrollton, TX. He will miss her mothering touch beyond all else. Also survived, by her very special daughter-in-law, Helen (Pepe) Pearson Huse, who found a friend in deed in her husband’s mother.

The litany of her survivors include her 3 grandsons who she nurtured, advised, and loved with a grandmother’s special touch. Thomas Nathaniel (Nathan) Huse, Brooks Patrick Huse and William Zachary Huse, they come from great stock and diligent servants of the Lord.

She loved her two granddaughters-in-law with an abiding heart. Thank you Hannah and Julie for opening even more opportunities for love to flourish.

“Vi” also had an incredible dedication to the “small” ones. She gloried most every day in her great grandchildren, Micah, Tessa, Jonah and Connor Huse. You only need peak at the preponderance of photos at her home to know how important those small children were in her life.

Her family survivors include a younger treasured sister May Bell Howard Watson and her husband Carl Watson of Waxahachie, TX. She is also survived by a beloved baby brother Charles Howard and his wife Betty of Malone, TX. The Howard siblings formed a singularly unified object of enduring family love.

She relished in her relationship with her nieces, Linda Kay Wright Finch of Brandon, TX, Kimberly Watson Campbell of Red Oak, TX and Jennifer Howard Hogan and husband Stacey of Malone, TX. These ladies and their families form a bond of family trust and love unique to our times.

She also had special relationships with her nephews, Donald Huse of Jacksonville, TX and his wife Vanessa. Dwight Huse and his wife Jenny of Tyler Texas, Dwaine Huse and wife Tracey of Tyler, TX, Douglas Huse and wife Beth of New Chapel Hill, TX and Steven Enders, wife Becky and their whole brood of West, TX.

Her other survivors include a multitude of close great nieces and nephews and their families. Remember she had you in her thoughts and prayers regularly and your pictures adorn her home as a reminder of what she treasured.

Her treasures encompassed so many of her work, church and other family friends. Your photos and reminders have been on her mind regularly over the last few months. She was unable to communicate with you all ….. but …. you know who you are and God has you marked as friends of His saint “Vi”!

Her memory would not be complete with a mention of her “rescue kitten” Meow. The story of one pet’s journey to love is an example of one woman’s journey through this life. Goodbye good and faithful servant – Vi Huse.
