Frances Thompson

Frances Marie Kendrick Thompson, 82, of Waco, passed from this life into the presence of her Savior at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2005. Frances was born in Frost, Texas to Willie Spurgeon Kendrick and Josie Bell Lipsey Kendrick. As a small child, her family moved to Hillsboro where she attended public schools. There she met the love of her life, Aubrey H. Thompson, Sr., whom she married. From this union were born sons, Aubrey H. Thompson, Jr. and Thomas L. Thompson. A homemaker for all of her married life, Frances took her position in the family seriously and provided her family with a refuge from the outside world. Frances was a loyal and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Frances was preceded in death by her husband and parents; mother-in-law, whom she loved dearly, Fannie M. Thompson; brother, Maurice Kendrick; as well as two brothers-in-law, Ted Sawyer and Ray Bigham. In addition to her sons, she leaves to cherish her memory daughter-in-law, Helen Thompson; granddaughters, Renee Tornga and husband, Steve and their daughters, Morgan and Jordan and Susan Nicole Kappes and husband, Ryan, and their son, Logan; one grandson, Paul Davis Thompson and his children, Braley and Kole; sisters, Mrs. Ted Sawyer and Mrs. Ray Bigham; brother, Bill Kendrick and wife, Barbara; sister-in-law, Ruth Kendrick; and several nieces. The family would like to thank Anna, Liz, Dub, and Craig of Southern Care Hospice and Carla of Regent Care Center for the care of their mother and grandmother during her last weeks. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the charity of one's choosing. "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her." Proverbs 3:10-12 & 28.
