Frankie Shaw, 79 of Whitney passed away on May 24, 2012 in Hillsboro.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Whitney Memorial Park in Whitney with Dr. Carl Jennings officiating. Mr. Shaw will lie in state Sunday and Monday with visitation with the family on Tuesday morning from 10 - 11 a.m.
Frankie was born on August 31, 1932 in Whitney to the late Barney and Mildred (Stewart) Shaw. He served his country in the National Guard. On July 16, 1950, he married Billie Jo Murphy and they were married for 40 years before she preceded him in death on October 25, 1990. He had worked for Steed Construction Company for 29 years as a heavy equipment operator and forman in Fort Worth, Texas, retiring in 1989. He then went to work at the Worthington Hotel in Fort Worth in the engineering department and worked there until he retired in 1994.
At one time he was a member of Glen Garden Baptist Church where he served a number of years as Sunday School Director and deacon. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Whitney.
Also preceding him in death were his brother, Theron Shaw and sisters, Elaine Atkins and Claudette Lyons.
Survivors include his sons, Billy Shaw and wife, Kelly of Waxahachie, Mike Shaw of Arlington; grandchildren, Kristen Shaw, Hailey Shaw, Kati Bracken, Niki Polak, John Polak, Jason Polak, Josh Polak and great grandchildren, Riley, Jordan and Raigan.
